The Fish-Eating Birds Review, commissioned by DEFRA, last year published its recommendations on reducing the impact of predation by fish-eating birds in England. New measures endorsed by the then DEFRA Minister Richard Benyon include the introduction of three Fisheries Management Advisors (FMAs) and a new area licence to allow greater flexibility by encouraging and allowing fisheries to work together for greater effect.
