Angling Trust: North East Fisheries Forums.

The Angling Trust in association with the Environment Agency have arranged two further public consultation meetings with regard to the ongoing issue of ‘Managing Salmon Fisheries.’ And in particular salmon and sea trout netting off the north east coast.

The first forum will take place on September 20th 2017 at;

  • The Bowburn Community Centre,
    Durham Road,
    Co: Durham.
    DH6 5AT

The second forum will be held on 3rd October 2017 at;

  • The Comrades Club
    4c Market Place,

Both meetings will start at 7.00pm.

Mark Owen, ‘Angling Trust Head of Freshwater ‘ will talk about ‘Salmon and Sea Trout netting’ and the need for all anglers to get involved with the current Environment Agency ‘Managing Salmon Fisheries’ consultation process. There will also be an update on the Angling Trusts ‘Save our Salmon’ campaign.

Representatives of the Environment Agency will also be in attendance including Jon Shelly who is leading the agencies consultation process.

If you love your fishing please make every effort to attend one or even both meetings. This is a significant event that will change the way you fish in the future. Make your voice heard!





North East (Tyne) Fisheries Forum

The long awaited fisheries forum postponed from the 10th May 2017 will now take place on the 28th June 2017.

The venue, remains the same, the Newcastle Gateshead Mariott Hotel at the Metro Centre.

The agenda also remains the same with the principal topic being the 2017 Net Limitation Order.

This meeting could well impact on game angling for the next 10 years not only in the North-East but the rest of the country.

Every angler who cares about their fishing and the conservation of wild fish stocks should attend.

Salmon & Trout Conservation UK Meeting
